Read the other day that Sammy is going to attack the A4 marketplace and plan to introduce a 75ppm, 95 ppm and 110ppm device in the next 12 months! Now is the time to add Muractec as another line, it doesn't seem like Ricoh, Canon, KonicaMinolta or Fuji Xerox are interested in this market, there were some rumors that Ricoh may enter and Toshiba, however nothing yet. The New Push to Get Rid of Paper

Mason-Cunningham, a Xerox vice-president, says it's not uncommon for companies to find they can cut costs related to documents by 10% but in some cases as much as 40%. "Everyone thinks about reducing printing costs, but that's just the tip of the iceberg," she says. Some companies track who's printing what and in some cases impose monthly limits on how many pages an employee can print. Is anyone else facing this from Xerox?

We are about to lose our third school district to Xerox who is quoting FREE UNLIMITED COPIES (toner inclusive). This one, we have 7 units there now and are proposing that 4 stay. Xerox has to replace all 7 and they are still beating our hardware cost so they aren't hiding service in the equipment price. The equipment is new and the agreement is for three years. Anyone else seeing this? We have another situation that is a large church with a dozen units. Xerox has put a new color box in AT NO

Does anyone have a guide or know of one that has install guides for our network systems? I know the features of our systems and what they are supposed to do, but we do not have an IT tech on staff, so all of the questions fall to me, so if I do not know how to answer the question, I will search the web or Ricoh sites to get the answer. I guess I am hoping that someone has

An ldap scan to email search that doesn't require 5 button pushes (Xerox can in 2). Color scan on everything. Web access from MFP panel. More sophisticated scanning setup (create scan profiles in one application and then push to one or multiple devices simutaneously, Xerox does this). PostScript emulation at a fraction of the cost of the real postscript option (as most of our competitors have). Scan2print. Oh yes, and most important for Ricoh to stop trying to acquire it's already acquired

Big oil profits are 8%. Would you be willing to take less? They have record profits because of record sales but the doom and gloom media won't tell us that. The problem is Congress. Allow drilling in ANWAR and the Gulf and supply would be larger than demand and costs would go down.

Re: Sales Tips

Surround yourself with happy people. It is easy to begin to think negatively when you are surrounded by people who think that way. Conversely, if you are around people who are happy their emotional state will be infectious. You are happy it will shine through, and your sales will show it as well.

The PS3 option for most of the newer models includes PDF Direct Print. You can set up a scan to folder (FTP) using the IP address of the printer you want to output on. This gives you "Scan2Print" capability. And of course, you can choose another folder on the network to scan to in the same operation...

In PA, Xerox has been pushing this promo to the school districts for three years now. We have a couple of disctricts that have Riso's and won't even entertain us on the copier side. The only way you are going to beat this is to wait and hope they screw up with servicing the account, other than that, there's no way to beat the price. Most of the schools are very happy with the program, the ones that aren't on it, hate Xerox and refuse to allow them on the RFP. I haven't heard anyone get hit
