TOSHIBA’S e-STUDIO SECURES BUYERS LABORATORY’S “OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT” AWARD FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Color Multifunction Product Couples Energy-Efficient Design with Array of Next Generation Eco Features

Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. today announces its e-STUDIO2550CTM multifunction product (MFP) has earned Buyers Laboratory LLC's (BLI) Winter 2014 "Outstanding Achievement" Award for energy efficiency. BLI is one of the world's leading independent providers of analytical information and services to the digital imaging and document management industry.

The leading managed print services (MPS) provider and business printing solutions innovator's e-STUDIO2550C received this recognition for its excellent overall performance in BLI's environmental test suite. During this testing, Toshiba's color product used about 40 percent less power than the other manufacturers' A3 MFPs tested.

"With the e-STUDIO2550c, users have access to many of the latest environmental features, such as blank-page removal and proof and job review modes, but they'll also benefit from the unit's superbly energy-efficient design," said BLI Test Technician Joe Tischner.

Aside from the e-STUDIO2550C's compact and energy-saving design - touting one of the smallest footprints in its class - the MFP integrates a Super Sleep Mode reducing power consumption to a mere 1.5 watts while in this setting. For additional energy savings, Toshiba's color printing product couples a low-temperature fusing toner and toner saver mode functionality.

"We are honored to receive Buyers Laboratory's Winter 2014 "Outstanding Achievement" Award for energy efficiency," said Bill Melo, vice president of marketing, services and solutions at Toshiba America Business Solutions. "Engineering and developing greener, more energy-conserving products is one of the pillars of Toshiba's business ethos for fostering a more sustainable global community and this philosophy is one we incorporate within every e-STUDIO offering we provide."

As an ecologically-conscious corporate citizen, Toshiba offers its customers free toner recycling. Through its zero-waste-to-landfill partnership with Close the Loop, the company accepts and recycles any manufacturer's spent toner cartridges. As a result of this program, nearly 193 tons of toner waste was recycled in 2013 - a 93 percent year-over-year increase - thereby preventing this significant amount of spent imaging consumables from filling open land.

Through its partnership with Close the Loop, Toshiba contributes to the development of eLumber, which is used to build such outdoor products as park benches, fences and garden boxes for communities and nonprofit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.
