IRVINE, Calif. (Jan. 18, 2008) – Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced the availability of the e-STUDIO™203L/233/283 multifunction product (MFP) series, a network-ready design that offers copying, printing, faxing and scanning capabilities at an affordable price, ideal for small- to mid-sized workgroups. This product offering is an update to TABS’ award-winning series, the e-STUDIO202L/232/282.

“Toshiba is proud to provide another line of solid overall performers offering versatile multifunction capabilities to streamline document management workload,” said Joe Contreras, director, Product and Solutions Marketing for TABS. “TABS is committed to providing businesses with a total solutions offering strategy, and with the introduction of the e-STUDIO203L/233/283, customers will get superior image quality from an affordable product that offers a full range of multifunctional capabilities that cater to their needs.”

The e-STUDIO203L/233/283 series prints 20, 23 and 28 pages-per-minute (PPM) respectively, offering an environmentally-friendly design that is Energy Star compliant, lead-free, halogen-free, chromium (VI)-free, and also compliant with the RoHS and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directives. The series has reusable components, uses thinner parts for weight reduction and utilizes 100 percent recycled toner, thus minimizing the impact on the environment.

Impressive Productivity and Paper Handling Features
The e-STUDIO203L/233/283 is specifically designed for small- to medium-sized workgroups that produce between 64,000 and 90,000 copies per month. The e-STUDIO203L has optional trayless duplexing and offers one 550-sheet cassette. Standard trayless duplexing is available on the e-STUDIO233/283, which features two large 550-sheet cassettes and an additional 100-sheet stack feed bypass to accommodate special and heavier stock papers, as well as envelopes. The series features 2400 x 600 dpi resolution for all three models.

The e-STUDIO203L/233/283 also saves customers time by providing numerous document-finishing options, including a single-position finisher, or an optional multi-position stapling finisher with saddle stitch capabilities and optional hole punch. The multi-position stapling finisher gives end users the flexibility to staple up to three separate positions and accommodates different paper sizes and document types. The series comes standard with an alternation feature, which alternates finished sets in a crosswise and lengthwise direction. Toshiba also has added two other low-cost finishing options with an offset catch tray that jogs multiple sets, and a job separator option to segregate copy, print and fax jobs.

Net-Ready Design and e-BRIDGE Technology
Toshiba has built networking capabilities into the core design of the
e-STUDIO203L/233/283 series, delivering an Internet-ready, mobile/wireless-ready, and solution-ready device. Toshiba’s net-ready strategy supports communication and integration of Toshiba MFPs seamlessly into many existing business document workflows and IT infrastructures.

Integral to the net-ready architecture is Toshiba’s next-generation e-BRIDGE hardware platform. The e-BRIDGE technology integrates copy, print, scan, fax and other networking capabilities in one single board within the device. This unified design shares system resources to control multiple functions and efficiently process information. The consolidation or “bridge” between hardware components results in reduced hardware costs, while improving features and functionality.

Large Touch Screen Control Panel
For complete ease of use, Toshiba has included a large touch screen control panel on the e-STUDIO203L/233/283 series. The control panel incorporates large buttons for easy access to commonly used features, as well as improved graphics and numerous one-touch buttons for preprogrammed settings. The design of the control panel benefits users by decreasing the number of keystrokes required when making a selection, and the layout offers more space between icons so users do not accidentally select the wrong feature. In addition to making the device easy to operate, the e-STUDIO203L/233/283 control panel can be tilted up to a 45 degree angle, increasing ease of use for physically challenged individuals and flexibility in various lighting conditions that may make it more difficult to read the LCD screen.

The e-STUDIO203L/233/283, as with all e-STUDIO MFPs, is eCopy™ ready to connect an organization's e-mail and other networked applications for low-cost, easy, instantaneous distribution and management of scanned documents.

The e-STUDIO203L/233/283 series is immediately available through Toshiba’s nationwide network of dealers.
