I stumped Graham with this one, (boy I thought he'd know). How do you set up Seperator Pages in the print drivers. I know you go to Setting, Printers, pick a printer and go to properties. There is a setting for simple or full seperator pages. But then what. Are there default styles on the PC's, or do you have to set up a style, or worse, do you have to purchase some software. Let me know. I have a customer with a AF1075 and 3800CMF who wants to use this option so that they can walk up to the Finisher and see where one job ends, and another begins. They want to use colored paper from one of the drawers as the paper designated for Seperator pages. Let us know. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has this need now or in the future. Thanks. (Graham, you can take notes from someone else for once. Ha-Ha)

Is your customer really sure they want to go there? Keep in mind that EVERY job would be seperated and count a click on the meter. First of all, I'm not sure but I think that the seperator page (or banner sheet) would be treated as a separate print job adding to the network traffic. Regardless, consider the costs:
20,000 prints per month @ $.0075/copy and $.01/sheet of paper.
If the average print job is 15 pages you have added $840/year to your costs ($2,400 over 3 years)
If the average print job is 1-3 page print jobs you add almost $2,100/year ($6,300 over 3 years)

If you use colored paper stock the costs go up another 30%.

All that having been said, if you still want an answer, I would call Jeff Weinstein, High Volume District Sales Manager for Ricoh. He is the product manager for the 1075, 1085 and the 1105.
His number is (714) 566-0641.
Thanks for the info Jim. Yes they do want to do this. They have 15 users printing to a central location. I've seen the finisher piled up with paper, only for them to have to go through and figure out which pages go to which person. This will help them do some basic job sorting. Also, I con't believe I have to call Jeff. I would think this is a relatively simple process. Select Seperator pages in the print driver, and tell it where the file for the page style is. That's my real question, Where's the file style?
I'll try to remeber to look at this Monday...there might be a couple of options here but I need to research it:
1. If your set up is Client/Server, can't you turn banner pages on at the server and it will generate them?
2. If printing peer2peer (SmartNet Client, etc.) banner pages would be turned on at the individual workstation.
3. Some network cards can create their own separator pages.

Thanks!
Lee
