Chicago, IL, September 9, 2013 - Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced new enhancements to its MUST SEE 'EMS award-winning Critical Communications solutions suite.  The simple, vendor-neutral and reliable portfolio empowers companies of all sizes with the ability to confidently produce jobs that require perfection, compliance or customization. The latest versions of RICOH ProcessDirector and RICOH ProcessDirector Express add a new capability for automating workflow across different hardware for shop-wide integrity.

For the first time ever, Ricoh is demonstrating integration of the industry-first Critical Communications solution suite together with solutions from both Avanti Computer Systems Limited, a leading provider of print Management Information Systems (MIS) and PTI Marketing Technologies, a leading provider of web-to-print and marketing personalization solutions.  As printers look to improve document tracking, reduce postal and operational costs, improve productivity and automate error-prone manual processes, the ability to completely control print shop operations is essential to doing business better.

At PRINT 13, Ricoh will showcase its entire Critical Communications solution suite, including new connectivity and usability enhancements to RICOH ProcessDirector and ProcessDirector Express, Ricoh’s modular workflow software that allows printers to control and streamline their workflow processes.  The new Connectors Feature addresses the multi-vendor nature of many shops today and allows operators to easily implement logic-based ticketing, and choose media and finishing options that apply to statements of variable lengths - achieving identical output across Ricoh, Xerox and Kodak devices, saving time and increasing asset utilization in the process.

The new versions of RICOH ProcessDirector and ProcessDirector Express enable companies to run the solutions on Windows 8 systems, eliminating the need to invest in servers and making the implementation of Critical Communications affordable for print service providers of all sizes.  Ricoh will also showcase the cost-effective Critical Communications solution - RICOH TotalFlow DocEnhancer, an Adobe® Acrobat® plug-in for editing print-ready PDF files, featuring the recently announced Verification Feature.

In real-world settings such as an insurance office, experts at Ricoh’s PRINT 13 booth will demonstrate and explain how these solutions are used throughout the print production process – from editing PDF files directly from the print shop floor, to streamlining digital production, to cleansing addresses and ensuring no piece is missed in a print job.

“Print service providers aspire to grow their business and handle more of the jobs their customers are demanding, but face obstacles in attaining the compliance and integrity needed for applications such as financial documents, medical patient communications and regulatory letters,” said Theresa Lang, vice president solutions & services, Ricoh.  “The newest enhancements to Ricoh’s Critical Communications solution suite further help to clear the path so that these organizations can deliver output with precision and integrity, while reducing costs. By taking advantage of this simple, reliable and affordable solution, they can fully realize their goals, while satisfying the expectations of their customers and regulated industries.”

Enhancements to the Critical Communications solutions suite include:
• Achieve 100 percent piece-level tracking and control and produce automated reports by mail piece or job
• Assign workflow and automate job approval as a step within workflow using RICOH ProcessDirector
• Maintain integrity in a multivendor shop with the connector for Xerox and Kodak printers, a new feature of RICOH ProcessDirector Express 1.2, which allows logic-based ticketing for shop-wide integrity
