RICOH ALIGNS WITH ELIXIR TO PROVIDE BEST-IN-CLASS PERSONALIZED DOCUMENT SOLUTIONS
West Caldwell, NJ, October 3, 2007 – Ricoh Americas Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, announced today that Elixir Technologies Corporation, a leading developer of software for creating and managing high-value documents, has joined the Ricoh Technology Alliance Program. With this alignment, Ricoh will now be a distribution channel for Elixir’s suite of document development and management software.
Ricoh and Elixir will team up to sell document solutions focusing on the high-end graphics and design production printing market. Elixir’s line of document design software, including Opus, DesignPro Tools and Transformation Suite, will now complement Ricoh’s full line of color printers and Multifunction Products (MFPs). Together, they will provide customers with world-class solutions to create, design and print high-quality forms and documents more efficiently and at a lower cost.
Elixir’s variety of design software products enables users to perform several different functions in the document creation process. Opus, an end-to-end design and production solution for variable data printing, is packaged with all the tools needed to automate the generation of personalized forms and documents, including marketing materials, catalogs, policies, and invoices.
DesignPro Tools is Elixir’s pre-production resource creation and editing suite. Digital form, font and graphic content can be created from scratch or imported from native print formats and edited. Using the Visual PPFA module, designers compose PageDef and FormDef resources and proof them on screen with 100% print fidelity.
Elixir’s Transform Solutions repurpose print stream and other file formats Robust data mining, format conversion and lights-out operational capabilities increase the value of documents and the data they contain by expanding their reach across the organization and enabling use in other applications and across print and web environments. On-the-fly modification of production print streams allows documents to be enhanced without redesign of the applications that create them. Transform Solutions support all major platforms including Microsoft Windows® and Linux, among others.

There are two divisions within the Alliance Program, the Strategic Alliance Program and the Technology Alliance Program.
