Looks to me like Kyocera is emerging as the MFP vendor of note outside of the big four, and you could argue that they could rival KM or Xerox in Europe.

Wondering what the Kycoera dealers on here see as Kyocera's strengths and weaknesses.

I'll be presenting these to Kyocera, so this is a good opportunity to show them where they can improve.

Thanks,

Jake

Jake,

First the positives.

The apps are the differentiator hopefully they will keep rolling these out and updating the ones they have.  The lines they are putting out are strong and reliable.

Support from our local Kyocera reps is great both presales and and service support. On the other hand our techs do get somewhat frustrated with the help line.

I've been with a Kyocera dealer for 8 years now and we just picked up Xerox as a second line.  One of the weaknesses we saw with Kyocera is lack of light production and production units.  This is a hole that we could fill with the Xerox and the main reason we picked them up.  I know that Kyocera has been resistant to jump into that segment but we couldn't compete when the speeds in RFPs were faster than 80ppm.

Hope that helps a little with your info gathering.  If you have follow up questions let me know.

Kyocera Guy,

Way to earn the title!  Thanks, man.

To give the rest of the P4P crew some food for thought, here is what I have so far:

Strengths

  • Emerging as Europe Market Leader, Could be Replicated in Other Regions
  • Ceyoniq ECM Acquisition a Bold Move, Solutions Goal $332M to $830M by 2018
  • HyPAS Platform Well Respected, Hybrid Java/Web Services has Potential
  • Solid US Dealer Channel, Strong Partner Relationships and Value Proposition
  • A4 MFP and SFP Expansion Creating Extremely Comprehensive Office Lineup

Challenges

  • Dealer-Centric Strategy in US Limits Growth – MFP Units, SPFs, MPS, Solutions
  • Lack of Production Prints Limits Enterprise and Dealer Growth (for now)
  • Small Presence Above SMB

Love to hear what else Kyocera dealers/competitors think.
