SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26, 2003--Hitachi Printing Solutions America, Inc. (HPRSA) adds four new MICR toner products to its line of high-performance replacement toner cartridges for MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) applications. Marketed under their well-known Dataproducts brand, these specialty cartridges help lower costs of in-house printing of checks, security documents and other applications employing MICR technology.
The four new MICR cartridges are compatible with Troy MICR 2100 series, Troy MICR 2200 series, and Troy MICR 8150EX printers, as well as HP LaserJet series 5P/6P, 2100, 4100, and 8100 printers. Products are available to ship now. HPRSA currently offers several other MICR products including cartridges compatible with HP LaserJet series 5Si/8000, II/III, IIISi/4Si, 4/5 and 4000/4050 printers, as well as the Lexmark Optra S printer. Performance is comparable to leading MICR systems integrators such as Troy Systems International. "With a line extension as the logical next step for our successful MICR toner product line, we continue to incorporate our 40-year track record as an OEM manufacturer with superior technology," says Jeff Sampson, Marketing Director for HPRSA.

Special MICR toners meet or exceed E-13B and ANSI standards for magnetic signal strength and exact character definition for optimal reader recognition. MICR toners are matched with high performance photoconductors and tested for consistently high quality check printing on a variety of check stock. Optical density and background are tested as well.
