GARFIELD — The former interim chief executive officer of the Garfield Boys & Girls Club was arrested on a warrant for alleged theft by deception. 

Todd Vanderpool, 36, was arrested regarding an alleged incident involving a $98,000 copy machine, according to the police report. The warrant was issued by the Garfield police department.

Vanderpool served as the interim CEO of the club in 2013. He is currently employed as an administrator at Stevens Cooperative School in Hoboken. 

Port Authority police arrested Vanderpool for the outstanding warrant on July 12 in Newark and later transported him to Bergen County Jail. 

Vanderpool allegedly obtained property belonging to the Garfield Boys & Girls Club by creating a false impression to obtain a Copy Star photocopy machine for $98,000, according to the warrant.  read the rest here
