I have a customer that has 6 months of back scanning they want to load onto their server, has anyone ever provided a scan per page contract?

It depends on what your signed service contract says. I do not think you can arbitrarily introduce a new fee just because the customer wants to do something with the copier that you did not for see. Perhaps you can escalate the cpc on the anniversary date.
In the end your tech will have to put a few more rollers into the Doc Feeder costing you less than $50.00 in parts.
Most service contracts have a clause that state if your scan meter exceeds your print/copy meter and the scanner breaks as a result of over-usage, the customer is responsible for paying for the parts and repairs.
That being said.... sounds like a great opportunity to educate the customer about eCopy ShareScan.
Actually my Service contract does not say that. I like your above statement and will consider adding it to my contract or maybe add a flat $10.00 fee per month when that happens. Our electronic meter reads report the volume of scans made but we never look at it.
Currently none of my competitors charges for scans in their quotations but this might get around that.
We have a few accounts we charge for scans due to the volume of scanning they do on the mfp but we have never changed their contract in the middle of a term to reflect the high volume of scans. We are working an account right now that we are going to charge for scans as we put a machine on trial and they did 7200 scans in the first day and a half. We have put a charge of .0007 for scans if I remember correct for previous deals like this. We know if they do that much we will be replacing the adf on it so our solution is to sell them a high speed scanner or charge for the scans.
I would offer to handle the scanning on an outsourced project basis for a per image fee. Additional charges for indexing, scanning off the glass, file reassembly, storage media & quality control. Of course, that's not something most dealers (including us) offer, because it's not hardware or recurring revenue, but it is a way in which we could profit from the drive to go paperless.
We have been charging for scans for the last 5 years.our contract states that we charge a 1/3 cent per scan. We also have a minimum monthly meter charge of $45.00.
