California copier company accuses Xerox of patent infringement

SANTA ANA — A Costa Mesa copy company, is suing Xerox, alleging patent infringement.

Commercial Copy Innovations Inc. filed a complaint July 5 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Southern Division against Xerox Corporation, alleging the defendant directly and/or through its distribution network, placed infringing products or systems within the stream of commerce without the plaintiff's consent.

According to the complaint, Commercial Copy has acquired all rights and title in and to U.S. patent for various products developed by Eastman Kodak Company for the purpose of enforcing the rights embodied therein. The suit says these asserted patents have been copied, manufactured and sold within the stream of commerce without Commercial Copy's its knowledge, authority or consent.
