OK, try this:

On the desktop, set up a new folder, and name it ABC.

In scanner settings box, use 215 dpi. select "scanner" for format size.

In the main scanner settings box, under settings - options - general tab, select set and file. The path for the scan to file lights up - set for C://desktop/ABC then CLICK APPLY.

Open a new set in scantool, and scan a 36 x 24 document.

1. Does it appear on your screen correctly?
2. Does the TIFF / PDF image appear back in the folder ABC on the desktop?

IF YES, GREAT!

If NO, start checking all connections and boards. These include the video cable from 240 to computer, print control board in PC - try another port, and the interface board inside the 240. If all of these check out, and still no scanning, call Ricoh tech support.

We just learned that you will still have problems with 3.3 unless you update the Kernel drivers when Plotbase is upgraded to 3.3. (Since there are no formal instructions for the upgrade, this is easy to overlook.) Once we updated the Kernel drivers, all problems went away except for one item. The only blank scans should be if you set the Format to "Custom Size", set the width to 36" and select 300dpi. All other settings and scans should be good.

To update the Kernel driver, insert 3.3 upgrade disk and then click on the following:

Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Computer Management
Device Manager
Multifunction Adapters
Ratio D2.1 Board

Select the Driver tab. If the version is not 1.0.0.78, select the Update button and the system should update for you.

The above info is for XP and I don't know if it would be the same for Windows 2K but you could try it.
