1232/1224 Toner issue

Do they have it set up for Auto Color Selection as default? We haven't hade any problems with this unless they are using Processed Black (AKA Setting up the machine) in "Full Color" mode instead of auto color. The only thing is that if it is in full color mode, everything will print black and color at the color speed.

I was told by our service technicians that this is just the way the machine is set up. I have had this come up with a machine that was placed, customer was not too happy. We just told them the machine is trying to give the best copy it could every single time.

After many tests we have been unable to reproduce the problem our customer reported. We think there was some user error/embellishment/unfamiliarity with the system. They are happy now.

There are a few things we did note. The machine will run a "self check" after any copy job run regardless of the quantity. The self check only lasts 10 seconds or so but if you have a line at the copier the next person will notice the delay.

On a test black and white run of 99 copies the system did pause at qty 51 for a self check that lasted only a few seconds, then it finished the job.

I also ran B&W jobs in full color mode but did not get the "adjusting colors" pause the customer reported. The are set to B&W as default.

Like the 3800 it will pause during color runs to "adjust colors” but that is expected on this system.

Our tech also did an in field fix by adding Mylar to fix a jam issue we have been having with this series.
