Important Update to all Members

Art Post
I'm consolidating some of the forums. I feel we have to many. I will be merging those threads to other forums on the site. For example: For each copier manufacturer there will now only be one discussion forum instead of 2 & 3. Merging of the data may result in members receiving a flood of emails. This happened with the old platform and not sure if the same will hold true with our new platform. If you are experiencing too many emails. Got to your notifications bar which is located under...Read More...

More Samsung to HP Transition Items

Jason H
What a complete cluster f**K it is ordering parts. My parts ordering lady is about to pull her hair out with the HP people. Needless to say I've had a Samsung that has needed a fuser for 2 weeks and we just got it today, after getting a used one the first time that was all scratched up and numerous times of getting the runaround about the part being processing and shipped etc. It also appears the parts will ship from California..... Anyone else having issues?Read More...

Sharp Charging Environmental Fee

Jason H
I was with a new prospective client yesterday and she gave me the proposal from sharp. After I get done throwing up at the price of service (.0075 for 2,000 b/w pages and .045 for 1,000 color pages) I notice they are charging her a $3.00 environmental fee. Now $3.00 a month over 63 months is not a lot of money but it is 189.00 that the customer feels like isn't necessary. I don't know if they are doing this all over but the explanation was that because they used toner in the machine they...Read More...
Hey there, So I'm trying to help one of my vendor sales reps with a law firm opportunity. The hardware buyout is extremely steep in the low six figures but what stood out is the sales rep said all of the maintenance on the current lease is bundled in. It's been a little bit since I've been on the hardware side of things but I'm pretty sure in most major markets a buy-out can not include future contracted copies if they're not used. Am I crazy or does that still apply in situations? Thanks...Read More...

Miscellaneous Itemized Deductions

Our outside sales people receive a flat auto allowance each month regardless of how many miles they drive. In the past they would keep track of their miles and deduct them (less the allowance we provided them). With the new tax changes I'm hearing that employees can no longer deduct meals, travel and other expenses. I'm interested to what ideas the group has to minimize the impact of this change to outside sales reps?Read More...

Wide Format Scan Service- Pricing

Anyone here have experience offering scan services for wide format? I'm trying to get an idea of street pricing. Scanning will be done on our premises, using our scanner. Client estimates around 2000 to 3000 pages, mixed sizes and media. Assume that we will scan and return docs to client. I've found on-line prices to be all over the map. I'm guessing we will be around $2 to $3 per page. Thanks-Read More...

Compass Sales Solutions Sherpa Users

Jason H
Im a pretty big fan of what compass can do. Unfortunately we only use it for about 40% of what it actually can do. I love the TCO feature but in the last several months prospects are not biting on the cost per page or the monthly spend the tco is putting out it seems. Most go back and show me where they don’t spend nearly as much as the tco says they do and then have little trust in the numbers they see. I had one yesterday and used her numbers and came out with about 400.00 per month. She...Read More...
